The girls were thrilled to see the snow piled several inches deep as they came down the stairs. We delayed long enough to get breakfast into them, but they couldn't be deferred for much longer.

The highlights were Lilly targeting anyone and everything with snowballs, Clara's first snowman created without any help, and a walk to the park to check out the snowy river bank.

Of course, since it was the end of March lowland snow couldn't last for long. By the time we were heading back in it was already raining lightly and the snowmen were getting shorter by the moment.

I'd say, "There's always next year," but at this rate we'll have more snow before April's done.
