Pajamas and Mt. Si

Clara woke at about 7:15 which means that Amy also woke at about 7:15 and I woke shortly after Amy pushed me out of bed. Oh well, I got two hours of sleep more than on a weekday.

Hmph.

After breakfast we looked at the fog and decided we didn't want to sweat without seeing anything so we headed for Rattlesnake Ledge. Amy warned us that the fog would still be blocking the sky even atop the Ledge, but we felt it was worth a shot.

There used to be an old trail that was really, really steep a new trail that was just really steep. Recently, though, a new trail was built that isn't really all that steep at all. In fact, the new trail has lazy switchbacks that wind through some really lush areas and it only crosses the old new trail a couple of times.

By the time we got to the Ledge itself it was clear we were well above the fog and the sun was out. In fact, the sun was shining so brightly we could hardly look across the valley at the mountains on the other side. I stripped Clara down to just her pajamas (it was still early in the morning so thpth) and we gaped at the great views.

Unfortunately, Tokul's got some wacky problem with her leg (don't worry, it's getting better) so she was at home and missed out. Not quite grasping this, Clara called out her name as though Tokul was just ahead of us on the trail and needed to come back.

The only problem we had was that when we got back into the fog it was rather chilly. Clara used her new favorite word ("cold") to describe her hands. Back at the car we helped some folks who couldn't find the main Rattlesnake Lake parking lot (yeah, I had trouble understanding that, too) before heading home to find Amy still in her pajamas.

Hmph.
