I'll admit that growing up Idaho was a state you drove through. Quickly. Heck, the panhandle is only 75 miles as the I-90 flies (and fly we usually did). Montana was the summer destination.
So did we really spend almost two weeks based in Twin Falls? What did we do?
We visited nine National Park Units. Nez Perce National Historical Park and Big Hole National Battlefield, Haggerman Fossil Beds National Monument, Minidoka National Historic Site, Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve, City of Rocks National Preserve, Golden Spike National Historic Park, and Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site. Oh, and the California National Historic Trail, too.
Drove more than 1,500 miles. Passed through four states. Racked up 24 miles on trails. Saw a bundle of wacky art. Saw so many gorgeous sunsets. Ran from storms. Had so much ice cream. Heard some very strange utterances.
Where is everything?
The sky shouldn’t touch the dirt.
Those are race car zoomers.
No one knows what that means you old man!
My nipples are perfectly fine, thank you.
(No. Those quotes aren't attributable the way you think they are.)
Overall, we had a great adventure based on the lands of the indigenous peoples of the west. (If you want to see whose land we were on look in the individual adventure posts or use a site like native-land.ca.)
