Tink and I got up in the dark and made good time to the trailhead. The trail is in great shape, but steep. Quite steep, in fact. Some parts are so steep I had to give Tink a boost.
The payoff is worth it, though. The last thousand feet are gained in a quarter mile, but the views are endless. Both Tahoma and the Alpine Lakes Wilderness feel close enough to touch. The only thing in the way is the 4,000 feet down to I-90 full of tiny little toy cars zooming east and west.
There was just enough snow to offset the heat from the cloudless skies. It was a good day.
I'm sure you stopped me a while ago because an awful lot of my adventures sound just like this. Anyway, enjoy the pics.
