Good thing the position of Adventure Dog came open in the Moosefish family.

Those early days were a bit of a shock to Josey's system. Partially because her name changed (everybody in the family gets named after nature so bye bye Josey, hello Moosefish Sparkle Treen*), but mostly because adventure wasn't a big part of her life before coming to us. Looking at the early pictures of Treen shows a skinny, puppy wondering why exactly she was standing on top of a mountain in the blowing snow.

Seven years later she's a buff adventure dog who wants to do nothing more than go hiking. Ice cold river water? Let's go swimming! Steep hills? Keep up! Snow storm on the summit? Grab my coat!

So of course we went for a walk on her birthday. Nothing major, just down to the river where she got to chase sticks, smell smells, and drink some raw water. (I hear it's the new big thing.)

We didn't sing to her, but she did open presents and had some tasty carrot muffins. Combined with hiking, it was pretty much a perfect day. Just like a birthday is supposed to be.

* Moosefish Sparkle Treen? Really? Yeah. We let the kids pick the middle name.
