Make no mistake. Iím no luddite. I spend all day at the office on my computer or on my phone or both. While Iím on the bus Iím surfing the web and when I get home itís back to the computer. I have been guilty of texting my wife as she sat next to me.
My kids, too, are well versed in technology. They have game players and tablets and a TV bigger than I dreamed of as a child. We are the very definition of a modern, connected family.
As we drive to the trailhead the kids often watch a movie. I do my best not to look at my phone as it buzzes in the cup holder, but I have a hands-free system so I can take a call if I need to.
It all ends when we enter a tech-free zone.
