New snow at the Pass meant we were actually going to go for a snowshoe. An honest-to-goodness snowshoe all the way to Beaver Lake. A two mile trip in fresh powder. AWESOME!
Except the fresh powder on the slopes to Beaver Lake was a little anemic. We'll save that one for a few weeks until there's enough snow there.
So it was another trip to the north side. The PCT trailhead has been walled up so there's no place to park. Instead, we went to the main lot of Alpental. It was great. Everyone was happy happy happy.
But playing in a parking lot is kind of lame. Across the bridge we found Alpental deserted (go figure), but plenty of snow for throwing and eating and peeing in. (Order is important.)
We only spent an hour, but it was a great hour and we made it back in time for lunch.
(Unfortunately, most of the snow was subsequently rained away. We're still a few weeks away from building any base so low.)
