Wait. It rains in Juneau? No, it doesn't rain in Juneau. It RAINS in Juneau. Even though the last couple of times we were here it was dry and wonderful, this time it rained and rained and rained some more. It rained so much the rivers were all out of shape. It rained so much I only got my good camera out of the dry bag once. Yeah. It rained that much.
Still, we had a good trip, my father and I.
We fished in the Channel, but caught no fish.
We went to Gold Creek, but found no gold.
We fished in the Salt Chuck, but didn't find Chuck. Also, the salt tasted funny.
I went biking, which isn't hiking.
We fished upstream, we fished downstream, we fished all around the stream, but caught only one fish.
We even went to see the glacier, but saw no bears.
We did get a chance to visit with our northern relatives, which was good. And we were reminded just how blessed August was with not a single drop of rain.
So it was good, even if the fishing wasn't. But I'd still rather it be nice next year.
