No doubt, you remember Clara's big birthday present was a new backpack, right? But what good is a backpack if it's not on a trail? NO GOOD!
So we took it out for a spin. We've been up Little Si a bunch before so it wasn't a new adventure, but walking with a big pack was. It rubbed weird and and felt weird. We moseyed and adjusted and shrugged. In the end we decided it was good, but it'd take some getting used to.
One of the biggest challenges is that Clara's on the very small side of the pack's fit. Everything is pulled as tight as it can be and she can't carry all that much weight. But without bulk the pack doesn't ride right. So maybe we'll fill it with balloons or something. Dunno.
Anyway, we didn't summit, but we did get a feel for the pack. And a bag formerly full of M&Ms.
Total distance was about three miles and 600 feet of gain.
