A weekend of Josey

Hanging at the benches

Suddenly, we were a two dog family. Well, at least for the weekend. Friends had a two year old puppy that had been on track to be a companion dog with CCI, but was "too energetic." Yeah. Right.

At two, Tokul was walking on the ceiling. Literally. (Not literally.)

At two, Josey is even keeled and walks quietly to you when you call. She bounces only at meal time, but doesn't try to get the bowl before she's told to. She's not a dog. She's a machine. Hopefully, a weekend with us won't break her.

But hiking might.

We started with a trip to the Falls with the kids and the women that raised Josey from a puppy.

The next day Scott and I had intended to tackle Mailbox, but really, really bad weather forced us to revisit the Falls. Plus, it was running at 4,800 cfs so it was worth seeing again.

Monday was a holiday so naturally we went out again. And again Twin Falls was the destination, but this time all the way to the Iron Horse and running in those goofy shoes. Those goofy shoes that allowed a rock to pierce all the way through my foot (again, not literally) making me limp for weeks afterward.

At the end of the weekend we returned Josey and I think she was very, very grateful for a break from the hiking and the kids and life in North Bend.

Good luck, Josey. You'll make some family very happy.

Totals: 11.8 miles and 2,150 feet of gain.
