The pediatrician said we should wait as close to six months as we could before starting Clara on solids. Sadly, her interest in what we're eating has grown by leaps and bounds recently so we decided it was time to forge into new territory and introduce her to the wonderful world of... rice cereal.
I don't know who came up with this, but man, it's nasty. I suppose I'd describe it as a sort of thick milk or what would happen if you dissolved styrofoam in a liquid. Needless to say, it wasn't terribly appealing.
Happily, though, Clara didn't seem to mind. Of course, she didn't really seem to eat it either. We'd spoon a bit into her mouth and she'd mash it around with her tongue before it would lazily spill down her chin. For a while I tried desperately to keep her clean, but in the end we just let her go with the promise of a bath afterwards.
Ah, my sweet daughter, you'll never been clean again.
