Go Melons!

Wake up, eat breakfast, out the door, Clara goes to school, back home, Henry goes to sleep, Lilly "helps" pack up, wake up Henry, pick up Clara, race into Bellevue, and arrive at the cheering station at exactly the right time. In fact, Amy was just walking under the pedestrian bridge as we crossed overhead.

At 10 miles in the Melons were already half way done with their day and feeling (and looking) good. Looks like walking 30 miles a week for virtually the entire summer has really paid off.

The team hung out with us for just a few minutes before they took off. We stayed on to cheer and hand out beads. It wasn't quite Mardi Gras, but it was very boobie-focused. Many of the walkers recognized the Melon shirts from two years ago and the girls posed for pictures and got some sweet baseball-themed stickers. (Something about saving second base...)

Henry played with the beads and the girls' pink feather boas, but couldn't be bothered to play with his own blue boa. He also dumped his blue water bottle in favor of the girls' pink ones.

When the beads ran out it was almost lunch time so we headed off for lunch and then to NanaPapa's.

We heard from Amy later that she's doing great. Knowing her she'll get the team moving at an indecent hour tomorrow morning. That'll put her at the first cheering station (12335 - 134th Court NE, Redmond -- right by the old Graham Steel) pretty early. if you want get more specifics drop me a line and I'll let you know what I know.

Go walkers!
