Clara will be performing as part of Pacific Northwest Ballet's "bug corps" in the upcoming performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream April 11-19.
While Clara had to audition to be in each of the last two productions of The Nutcracker, this time the ballet masters visited classes and invited selected students. The Seattle Times wrote that this "is a showcase for some of the school’s finest students" and quotes Francia Russell as saying, "“they’re already semiprofessionals."
Rehearsals began March 25 and have reached a feverous pitch. All told, she'll have over 27 hours of rehearsals and four performances. (She's an alternate for the other four performances.) Over the four weeks of the production she'll have only five days she's not dancing. (Of course, on those five days Clara's likely dancing anyway.)
She's scheduled to perform on April 12 (matinee), 13, 17, and 19 (evening). If you want to see her you can buy tickets through the pnb.org site.
