One of the very first SCIENCE experiments we did was creating oobleck. We've had a couple of duds lately, so I wanted to recapture the passion that came with playing with a puddle of goo.
So... we made science putty. Think Silly Putty without the trademark or the egg.
While we got maybe an hour out of the oobleck we had at least two hours of solid fun with the putty. And that was only for the first day. It saves perfectly so it's come out of its Science Bucket a couple of times to great acclaim.
And it wasn't just smooshing and splatting and stretching. Add a straw and suddenly you can blow bubbles. BIG bubbles. Clara was the master... er... mistress. She figured out how to create huge bubbles. I, on the other hand, figured out that if I kept it the putty thick when I blew into the straw it would be rather flatulent sounding.
Between the bubbles, the farting, and the science we had a great time. And now we have a big box of Borax hanging around. I wonder what else we could do with it...
But we weren't done yet! It was time for BONUS SCIENCE!
Remember way back in the day when we started growing tadpoles? Yeah, back in June. The darn tadpoles aren't growing and aren't dying. However, their time is up for being the in great outdoors since there was a layer of ice on their bucket. So... into the garage. I know I said, "Stay tuned," back in June, but... Stay tuned.
