SCIENCE (is alive)

It's alive!

Last weekend we... um... acquired some frog eggs. I had low hopes anything would come of them, but... hurray! Tadpoles!

Uh... what do tadpoles eat? Algae? Great. Where do I find that? And no, I'm NOT paying for any.

Luckily, we live in a rain forest. It turns out there's water everywhere so we had only a short walk up the road to a mud hole full of gooey green nastiness. Bad news usually, but for now it was a tadpole grocery store.

After a minimum of hilarity trying to get the tadpoles into jars so we could make some observations we fled the rain for the garage... er... lab. We started with Henry who commented on the colors. Then Lilly who saw a little more. Clara was taking notes and saw the most.

Needless to say, this will be an ongoing bit of SCIENCE so stay tuned. We're hoping for frogs in four or five weeks.
