The weekend was full of last minute trips and spelunking so there wasn't much time for cake and presents. Of course, no little princess could turn five without so we extended the birthday weekend to three days just for her.
The cake was, of course, awesome. So awesome that some tell of little boys who burst into tears when told they can't have any. Of course, it's sometimes hard to tell exactly what's true nowadays, but believe me: The cake was awesome.
And presents. And fire. And chicken fettuccine because that's apparently the birthday meal of choice around here. Go figure.
And believe it or not, now we have an entire month without a birthday. As much as I'd pleaded with Amy and the docs they just wouldn't get Henry out in May. So much for my plans. At least we have a month to recharge. My recollection is that the end of the terrible twos is certainly a major cause for celebration.
