Did we get up in the wee hours to listen to Talyor Swift and watch the sunrise from the mountains?

It's only dark and cold

I'm not actually a serious Taylor Swift fanboy. I like some of her songs. You know, the popular ones. Especially when performed by The Rock. I'm much more of a Cure/New Order/Nine Inch Nails/Posies kind of guy. But you know the kids these days. They all stayed up or got up early for Swift's latest release. It only made sense to use that early rising to go snowshoeing.

We'd hoped for a sunrise, but the skies were cloudy. Still, we got some views, Tinkham ran her little heart out, and we listened to much of the new album on the drive up and down the mountain. Oh, we also got home before Lil needed to get to school and I needed to be at work. Not bad, right?

I have mixed feelings about child number two leaving the next for college. I'm excited for what she'll experience and how she'll grow, but that's tempered by the realization random adventures like this will decrease when she's living somewhere else.

Good lord. I really am getting old.
