Big trees, big adventure

Not every adventure needs to be tens of miles and thousands of feet of gain. Sometimes big adventure is right down the street and you've been driving past it for the last week without even realizing it. So it was with Oregon's biggest cedar tree.

It's a monster of a tree. Truly huge. There's an easy boardwalk through the cedar wetland to get there and benches all the way around the tree so you can really experience it.

The only problem is it's so huge you can't see it all at once. To get back far enough to see from the bottom to the top you'd lose it in the thick forest. Instead, we did a lot of walking around it while saying, "Oooh" and "Ahhh" just like it was a fireworks show.

Can you blame us for being impressed? Look at the size of that thing. Better yet, go there and see it for yourself.

📍On the lands of the Tillamook people.
