One day, it will get me in trouble. But that day was not this day. Instead, stopping at a pullout on the side of the road and following the trail to... wherever it goes turned out to be a good plan.
It's a climber's trail that leads to a couple of boulders. I guess that's fun, but it's not really my thing.
So when the trail ended at the last boulder, I made a beeline for what sounded like water. Boom! Sweet waterfall!
Tink and I followed the water up and hopped on a ridge that promised to keep going up.
At least until it went from mildly steep to do-you-have-protection steep. Yeah, not for us. Or at least not this day.
All told, we were out for about an hour and a half. Given the total travel time was roughly the same, I might be fudging our adventure time just a bit to ensure I didn't break the don't-drive-for-longer-than-you'll-hike rule, but not much.
Even if it was a longer drive than a hike, it was worth it. I wonder what else is out there that we haven't explored yet?
