It's me!

What. The. Heck.

This is the Pacific Northwest. It's not supposed to be 100F. EVER. Certainly not for multiple days in a row. And yet, here we are. Thank you very much, global warming. (And yes. It's anthropogenic. Don't bother exposing your criminal ignorance by questioning the science.)

Also: It was a weekend and I needed to go for a walk. For medicinal reasons, of course. We started even earlier than usual to beat the heat. Our route was chosen to stay in the forested valley as much as possible. Even though the summit was exposed, there'd be snow for us and the dogs.

In my slow progression toward recovery, this would be the first trip to break the 3,000 feet gained threshold. I was slow. While I might be getting stronger, it's going to take a long time before my lungs catch up with my muscles. No records (except the high temperature) were broken this day.

We did stay cool (enough) and got enough exercise to justify hiding in the house and lounging in the river instead of working in the yard so I count it as a win. Now if we could just keep global warming to 2C, but I fear that ship has sailed.
