May! Finally! Time to start training this hip to behave! Except to do that I have to behave myself. I hate behaving. Here's how I'm supposed to choose my hikes.
Given that each hike is defined in three dimensions, increase only one dimension at a time. Hike that tuple of dimensions at least twice with no pain (with at least one rest day between). What are the dimensions, you ask.
Distance - How many miles will I hike?
Gain - How many feet will I climb and descend?
Technicality - How difficult is the walking? (e.g., Snow covered? Lots of roots and big steps? Off-trail?)
So this trail was a whopping 3.33 miles and 650 feet of gain. The tread was pretty good for an unmaintained trail. See for yourself.
The result? No pain! W00t!
And I did the final trial for a new shirt. It's snuck into pictures from other hikes for the last few months, but this clinched it. Graphene-X is the company and the shirt is the Layer-X. (Disclosure: They sent me the shirt.) Definitely a winner and with a fancy chemical pedigree, too. Check them out. Or... check me out.
No? Check HOS out?
Whatever. It was a good hike and after I do one more like this I can increase one of the dimensions. But which one? Spoiler: SNOW!
