They're what we once called "friends." We like them even though we don't live with them.
So, uh... you up for a hike?
In the beforetime, this was a dumb question. Duh. Always up for a hike. Now it's a crazy idea to be hiking with humans that don't live in my house. And yet, Tink and I drove over the mountains to see people we haven't seen in a LONG time.
The hike wasn't super epic. I'm still not ready for that. But we did get to see all the highlights of this particular trail system including, but not limited to the following.
The moonscape. Was it burned or flooded? Why is it so black?
The corkscrew rock. Well that's a weird rock for sure.
Flowers. They're actually blooming this time of year on the other side of the mountains.
A hole full of death. Technically, I only saw it from the outside, but Tink went in and miraculously made it out alive.
Little cheese rock. It's like big cheese rock, but smaller.
I talked while Tink ran back and forth checking out this new world and the friends she remembered, but hadn't seen in fivever. (That's like forever, but one more.)
Heck, we even got dinner afterward and thanks to distancing, masks, and most of us being at least partially vaccinated I didn't get sick.
Seems like a great day. With friends. How weird is that?
