Well, I guess it is fall in the Pacific Northwest, so rain is pretty much a given. It's handy to keep the trails from being crowded, but I'd rather good weather and choose my destinations to minimize company.
We started early. It was one of those nights when I couldn't sleep so I was at the trailhead early. The rain didn't have any problem getting up.
Then there was the trail. Sorry. "Trail."
One of my favorite parts of this route is heading up the valley between peaks. We had a handy tailwind to make the going even easier.
Not to self: Don't fall in the cave. Do come back in better conditions and look at that more closely.
This was not the type of day we spent a lot of time on the summit. In fact, we headed down almost immediately. Can you blame us?
