For a dog, who you go hiking with is more important than where

Buddies already

Are you on Strava? It's a site that allows you to track your human-powered adventure. There are badges you can get for doing different things. Run a lot? Get a badge. Splurge on vertical gain? Get a badge. Complete a defined route fastest or the most frequently? Get badges. You know what there are no badges for? Adventuring with your friends.

Seems kind of silly, right? Isn't a trip with your buddies better than a trip by yourself? Either way, it's better than hiking with people you don't like. There should be a badge for hiking with a crew because if you keep adventuring with the same people it stands to reason those are people you like.

Now dogs... dogs get this. They understand at a deep level that playing with your pack is way better than playing by yourself. So when they can get together with their friends, well, it doesn't matter where you go. It's going to be a party.

The party puppies on this adventure were the usual Tinkham, Odin, and Freya and actual puppy Rory. Sadly, Rory seemed to have a blast running around with Tinkham. Sad because of the three yellows, Tink is the least well behaved. Sorry about that.

Although there were no significant high points reached and neither the mileage nor the gain were epic, the dogs had a blast. Yet another lesson I can learn from Tinkham and her friends.
