It's not that Tinkham doesn't appreciate me when we're hiking with other dogs, but I'm definitely not the most fun partner on the trail. Especially not when the other dogs are her good buddies and littermate from another bi--- . Never mind. That wasn't really going to work anyway. But you get the idea. She'd much rather play with her friends than me.
We rumbled up the trail with the intent to do a loop (yeah, another possible east-side loop with the same fools), but wisely opted to forgo it in favor of a trip to the lookout and then return to the trailhead.
Not that we had great views from the lookout. We did look in the lookout (ha!) because the shutters were open, but the clouds obscured pretty much everything else in every direction. Instead, we took pictures and let the dogs be dogs.
No surprise, they bounded over rocks, got way too close to the edge, and generally ignored me. It was slightly better on the way down after they'd burned off some of their energy, but Tinkham was far less attentive than when we hike just the two of us.
Don't let that video fool you. I don't think she was coming to me. I just happened to be in the way.
And in this one... maybe there was only one yellow with us. She just had vampire speed and could zip around me. What other explanation is there for only one lab being visible at a time?
Even though I felt oh-so-hurt (not really), I gave Tinkham a lift home and promised she'd get to play with her friends again soon. After all, adventures are the only times I get to see my friends, too.
