Above the clouds is where we want to be

It's nicer up here

You've heard all the stories about Washington. It always rains. It's gray all the time. We can have 100 days straight of rain. It's all true. Just like the Force. So if you don't want to hike in the gray, you need to above it.

Sure, that means climbing, but that's kind of what we do. Tink was having a blast because her two best buddies, Freya and Odin, were with us. A short walk through the gray forest, around the lake, and a search for the route up the mountain and oh, hello, beautiful sunshine!

Mount Rainier under a blue sky on a bed of clouds. Trees floating on the edge of nothing. And watching the clouds slowly recede into the lowlands leaving the tarns sparkling in the sun.

Here in the PNW you have a couple of choices. Take a lot of Vitamin D or start climbing. Or do both. (That's what we do.)
