When your dog loves snow this much, you just can't stick to dry trails

So....

Never has there been such a love. I speak, of course, of Tinkham and snow. And to be honest, Treen had the same love. I digress.

Winter is coming to an end. That's a bummer because we didn't do nearly enough adventuring in the snow. So every chance we get... find the white.

This is probably the closest to home we can be and get into the snow. Even though there was four inches on the ground at the road, it was far too warm for that snow to be of quality. It was dripping off the trees and melting quickly. It wasn't until we were far higher that it got to be decent snow. Even that was just an inch on top of a couple inches of hailstones from the previous night's freak storm. Pro-tip: Hailstones like these packed amazingly well and tasted lovely.

In spite of the big clouds on both horizons, there was sun shining on us. We were confused. It was bright and warm while we were standing in snow. Whenever the sun was out, a weird dog followed Tinkham and a weird person followed me! It's like they were shadowing us. Seriously. Weird.

However, we did not let the freaky sun prevent us from getting to the top. Tink looked for... something deep in the snow. Didn't find it. At least I don't think she did. On the way down we tried to visit another viewpoint, but the narrow ridge walk all covered in snow was a bit too sporty.

We got our snow fix so maybe it'd be ok for winter to slowly recede into the higher mountains. But not too high. It still needs to be there when we want it.
