My poor, poor family. It's pretty much like I'm a three year old.

I want to go snowshoeing.

Well, Little John, it's raining. It's no fun to go snowshoeing in the rain.

But it's January! We always go snowshoeing in January!

I know, sweetie. It's hard when things don't go your way, isn't it?

I WANT TO GO SNOWSHOEING!

How about playing some video games?

SNOW. SHOEING. SNOWSHOEING SNOWSHOEING SNOWSHOEING!

Settle down, buddy. Maybe you can go snowshoeing tomorrow.

Henry, will you please take your father snowshoeing? He's driving me crazy.

YIPEE!

So we went snowshoeing. It wasn't actually raining, but it had been. The snow was sloppy and heavy. The freeway had been opening and closing all day so our usual spots were out of reach, but we were still able to get to a trail and climb high enough to get out of the wet and into some powder.

To be clear, I'm not advocating for toddler tantrums if you want to go snowshoeing, but if it works...
