It turns out the world didn't end when three feet of snow fell (but it sure felt like it was close)

Remember when the snow wasn't that deep?

Actual thoughts over the course of the storm.

We got an inch of snow! Let's go for a walk up the trail! It's so beautiful and school is an hour late!

Can you believe we've got six inches of snow?!! It's unbelievable! It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Let's go for a walk on the trail! School is canceled!

OMG. It's not stopping. It's a foot deep now. School is canceled for the second day.

Two feet. The cars are snowed in. I heard a massive crack and a tree fell. Do we even have school anymore?

Three feet. We're all going to die. When the dog goes outside she just disappears. We're going to be in school until July.

I've lived in Washington all my life and I don't ever remember a storm like this. The snow just kept falling. Avalanche danger was through the roof in the mountains, but it didn't matter because we literally couldn't get out of our own driveway. It took two of us hours to shovel the drive and dig out one of the cars. And then there was a full half mile more of our dirt road.

We were snowed in at home for six days. The kids missed five days of school and we worked from home all week. Even though we loved the snow, it was a hard week. It was a relief when it started melting, though it took almost a month for the snow to completely disappear.

So... the lesson? Uh... don't let it snow? Not really an option. Shovel the drive as each inch falls. Don't let it pile up. And make the most of the snow. It won't happen again for another who knows how long. Be like Tink. Have some fun.
