SNOW! (Well, back in February there was snow...)

Just a boy and his dog

Snow is a treat, a blessing for the lowlands in the PNW. It happens maybe once or twice a year and never sticks around long. We had a few inches fall and that was enough for back-to-back walks up the trail. Both Henry and Tinkham were stoked on the the dusting and I was in love with the way it transformed our oh-so-familiar trail into something new and novel.

We didn't go far, it was fairly slick even though it was just half an inch. Although we tried to get the rest of the family to come along the next evening, it was again just me, the boy, and the dog. If the trail was different in the snow, it was downright foreign in the snow and the dark. Tink startled at every sound, reminding me she is still just a babe in these woods.

Surely, the snow will melt off over the next day or so and we'll be back to 34F and snaining. Right? I'm glad we got a chance to get out and experience the snow while it was here.

(This is where you pretend not to remember Snowmageddon and instead just nod wisely.)
