Disclaimer: That's not the summit.
Summer evenings in the mountains are wonderful memories on a dark, rainy night in October. Back in July we climbed up the mountain, watched the sun set, and came back down in the dark. It was a beautiful adventure. I'm already dreaming of going back. Like, now.
But dang it's a long trip. And those couple of spots with serious exposure are a little heart-pounding. And it's an even longer hike when you're doing it in the dark without a headlamp. (Pro-tip: Don't forget your headlamp.)
In spite of all that, I can't help it. It doesn't matter how much it hurt. I'll go back. To walk the dog. To walk me. To chase pikas. To see the world before it gets dark. Yeah. I'll be back.
