Don't you just love those little adventures that overwhelm you with a thousand little snippets of beauty?

Now this is a trail
And it's beautiful.
Check it out! No huge mountain, no big miles, and the views are just of the home court. They're nice, but epic? Nah, not this time. The views of Mount Rainier were obstructed at best and seeing the blue sky was restricted to the summit.
Instead, this adventure led us up a steep hill along duffy trails lined with thick moss and big trees. Treen ran up and ran back. It wasn't warm until we got to the summit and stood on the sun-heated boulders. We drank in what views there were and headed back down.
It's not that the views from the top weren't worthy, but the easy walking on the trails called us. Bits of the sun broke through the trees. Treen panted hard as we jogged down the mountain. By the time we got back to the cars I was gassed, too, but feeling great and ready for the rest of the day. (Though I admit it would have been nice to have a nap like Treen did.)
