Sunsets in the "backyard"

Even deep valleys get some sunsets
For about five minutes.
I work 35 miles from home. It takes me an hour to get to the office in the morning and an hour and a half to get home in the evening. I drive, ride a bus, and walk. Seems kind of silly, doesn't it.
Yes. Yes, it does.
Except that afterwork I can walk to the nearby trailhead and enjoy the sunset in the mountains. I get to see my home trail devoid of the hundreds or thousands of people that will show up on the weekends. And when everyone else stops short I'm 35 miles closer to the wilderness.
So yeah, it sucks to go into the city for work, but it beats the alternative.
