Treen is a working dog. She was bred to be a working dog. She's happiest when she's hard at work.
Her early life was spent training to be as a service dog. She did all the normal obedience things, but then she went to advanced training and started learning to do things like turning the lights on and off, doing the laundry, and filing taxes. She failed her CPA exam so she returned home in search of a new career.
That's when she joined our family. Now she's a hiking dog and she loves it.
Sure, she looks uncomfortable at times and she probably is a bit. I'm the same way. Ever wonder why there are no pictures of me as I'm struggling up a steep, icy slope with the snow blowing sideways?
Her love of her hiking life really shines in those moments when she's munching her way through a field of berries or tearing across a snowy meadow or pausing on an after-work hike next to a waterfall. I try to capture those smiles and tail wags to share with you, but it doesn't always happen. And when I try to get her to pose for a shot you can be sure she's not showing her stoke.
So don't worry. Treen's having a good time. And yes, we take good care of her. She has all manner of gear that sometimes she likes and sometimes doesn't.
By the way, she loves meeting new people. If you see us on the trail please do ask to say, Hi. I bet you'll see that smile bloom across her face.
