Where has the time gone? It seemed just yesterday she was dancing at the community center for an hour a week. Now she has pointe shoes and has class four days a week?
Well, things change, I guess. Now Clara has special shoes for ballet guaranteed to be more painful than plastic mountaineering boots, though a little more acceptable on stage.
It took 20 minutes and five different pairs of shoes to get ones that would fit. She still needs to break them in, sew elastic and ribbon, and learn to stand on them. Then maybe she'll be able to dance on them.
Oh, my darling little girl. Wouldn't a pair of crampons and an ice axe have been a better investment?
