Since the zip line went up earlier this year we've been dying to use it more and more. However, lousy weather stymied us for much of the Spring. Now it's Summer and we should be flying through the trees.
With decent weather finally upon us we were able to get up high again. And it was even higher than last time. When we had some tree work done we had to take the line down. As the workers were putting it back up they raised the high end by four feet. Fast is now and understatement.
In spite of the new, speedier descent we were able to get Henry off the ladder for the first time. He's still working on hanging on so I'm really glad we've been requiring climbing harnesses for safety.
Lilly took her American Girl doll for a ride and all the kids turned their hand-me-down iPhones and bike helmets into homemade GoPros. Watching the video convinced me of the need for some new hardware, but I'm not sure Amy's on board just yet.
We also started planning a launch platform. I was thinking, "Rickety deer stand," but Amy was more, "Treehouse Masters." We'll see who wins. (And I won't complain if I'm the loser.)
