Gardening has always been Amy's thing. Or Grandpa Jack's thing. Or Safeway's thing. (I assume that's where all their produce comes from. Don't even ask about where the meat comes from.)
However, last year I kind of got a kick out of seeing stuff actually growing in our yard. The idea of growing things that were actually tasty was appealing. So this year, I'm taking a slightly more active role. Especially when it includes test tubes.
Amy handled all the dirty work (you know, digging, raking, etc) while I focused on our soil test kits and some of the heavy lifting.
In the end, we knew that our soil was pretty well balanced and the beginnings of the great Moosefish rabbit fence were in place. We've also started construction of a couple of mini-greenhouses.
Next step: Spring. (We might need a little help with that part.)
