Behold! An October adventure worthy of All Hallow's Eve, but it's a week early.
The kids found themselves in an alternate reality. No parents. A strangely familiar house, but not where they usually sleep. Would they survive?
They're moosefish kids! Of course they'll make it.
They fought their way through a maze in the darkness with spiders and ghosts and goblins trying to drag them down.
They journeyed across the vast openness of a featureless high plateau on horseback. The skies threatened a death defying rain, but casting spells they held the storms back.
The tribes of the plateau accepted them and provided them aid. They were painted to forever mark them as members of the locals.
Finally, they fought their way past creatures of such terror, such hideousness they defy description. (Except "terror" and "hideous," of course.) Suffice to say the kids used all their wiles to escape. Mostly by eating popcorn and scattering a bit on the ground to distract the evil.
When all was said and done, the kids survived, but only just.
(And we got to spend a weekend as adults.)
