Riding the waves
Clara and Lilly help guide the ferry into the docks on Vashon Island.
The Vashon "Hum." Yeah, we heard it. A couple of times it seemed like it was coming from the airplanes overhead. Then it was the car on the road. I think at least one it came from someone's pants. Yup. It's real, all right.
The reality distortion field (to borrow a term) was everywhere on Vashon Island. The road wasn't very high in height or speed, yet it was called a "highway." The map said we should turn where there was no road and we all know Google is never wrong. Most disturbing of all, though, was that with 10 kids bouncing on the trampoline at the same time none of them fell off.
Vashon is a seriously weird place.
But we had good hosts and good food so a good time was had by all. If they ever get that "hum" thing figured out we might even go back.
