Just last week I was marveling at new snow, but we knew it wouldn't last. A pair of storms roared in and then stalled. We got almost six inches of rain in one day, all the snow melted, and the river jumped to 6,000 cfs at the upstream gage. Although our road had water flowing across, it was nothing like two years ago when the river was crazy at 9,000 cfs. (In this photo you can see only the top three of nine steps.)
