Big Monster invades
Clara, aka the "Big Monster" when she's wearing her snowshoes, claimed the front yard as her own winter wonderland after six inches of snow fell.
Ah, snow. So unpredictable. So beautiful. So frustrating. I'd almost rather we get no warning at all than the constant wolf cries. When it finally does arrive, though, it's like magic.
It started snowing Thursday night and by Friday morning we had a solid six inches. Sweet. Clara was practically clawing at the door trying to get out to use her snowshoes so we could do little other than dress her warmly and hold on tight.
Lilly was a bit taken aback by the cold, but Tokul had no issues as she played with the neighbor dogs. I did the structural work for the snowman, but Amy and Clara put the finishing touches on it. (The rock eyes and celery nose survived, but the snowman fell over within a few hours. So much for my legacy.)
We had to head west for pictures with Santa and figured it'd be completely melted out by the time we got back, but lo! Three days later and it's still here. Yee ha! Of course, now Monday is just around the corner and the snow and ice is a little less convenient so our story has changed. Now we hate snow.
Until it's gone.
