How time flies. It seemed just yesterday Lilly was starting preschool. And just the day before that she was learning to walk. And was it just three days ago that Amy was in labor? And now she's in public school?
Bonus: We don't have to pay (directly) for public school! w00t!
After getting assessed a few days earlier we dropped Lilly at school and got to sit in on the first few minutes of class. Lilly was aglow with pride as she turned and waved goodbye to us.
We left, grudgingly, and headed home. Amy went back when it was time for Lilly to get on her bus and hid in the bushes for more pictures. (You'd think they'd have better monitoring to be able to detect creepers like her.)
She raced home to beat the bus, but of course that wasn't a big deal. Lilly's bus, on a good day, was supposed to take 50 minutes. Yeah. Like 10 minutes short of an hour. For Kindergarteners. The only place this bus didn't go was to the Pass. (The bus to the Pass actually got their quicker.)
Not that it was only 50 minutes later she got off the bus. Being the first day and all it was a solid 1:30 before she got off. Still...
What was the best part of the day?
Since then she's been riding the bus like a pro and it's been a lot quicker, too.
Just think, at the rate she's grown up it'll be Thursday and she'll be graduating high school and heading to <gulp> college.
Better start saving now.
