Mt. Washington on fire! August 17, 2008 Amy and I were lying in bed enjoying the best lightening storm to roll over the house in years and I was just starting to nod off when she said, "FIRE!" Sure enough, a fire was burning near the summit of Mt. Washington. 911 already knew about it and the fire grew to 1,600 feet before being contained by fire crews in the morning.
